Mr. Noriaki Yamashita, President of Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited, has presided over the opening of Toyota Booth in “The 44th Bangkok International Motor Show” under the concept „Toyota Multi-ways for a Better World”. It aims to present the vision towards carbon neutrality through Toyota’s multiple pathways strategy. In the booth, there are concept vehicles with diverse powertrains which are Hilux Revo BEV Concept – LPG HEV Taxi Concept – Prius HEV Concept – and Corolla Cross Hydrogen Concept. To emphasize the leadership of electrified vehicles, the xEV zone displays various hybrid cars and Toyota’s first BEV; bZ4X. Moreover, many Toyota cars including the models that won the Thailand Car of the Year 2023 led by the new 2023 Yaris are exhibited along with several exclusive offers for customers booking a car in the auto show and at nationwide Toyota dealer showrooms during the exhibition period. The 44th Bangkok International Motor Show is held during 22 March – 2 April, 2023 at the Challenger Hall, Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani.

Recently, we just announced the “Carbon Neutral Mobility Event” by CJPT in this month.

CJPT stands for Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation which is a joint venture together with the other Japanese OEMs. It aims to accelerate the implementation and popularization of CASE technologies toward solving transportation challenges and achieving a Carbon-Neutral society. In the event, we offered various technologies aiming to hear the sincere opinions from the stakeholders and consider the proper way to climb the mountain together to achieve carbon neutrality for the happiness of Thai people. Following CJPT event, we showcased the multiple vehicles towards carbon neutrality in our booth.

Toyota introduced Camry HEV in 2009 as the first electrified vehicles and sold around 160K HEVs until now. It contributed over 850K Ton Co2 reduction and it will equal to plant over 2.5 million trees. Now, Toyota is offering 6 electrified vehicles which are 5 HEVs and bZ4X BEV as the leadership of electrification. Today, on top of them, I want to share the good news that we will introduce 4 new HEV models in this year. They meet variety of Thai customers’ needs further. And more importantly, they will contribute reduction of CO2 further. ”

BEV Concept “Hilux Revo BEV Concept”

The Hilux Revo BEV concept is equipped with an electric drive system that runs on a BEV lithium-ion battery, aiming to promote the achievement of carbon neutrality and enhance environmental preservation. This pickup truck features a double wishbone front suspension and a sturdy rear suspension leaf spring. Based on the Hilux Revo, the prototype of a fully electric pickup truck features a single cab body with a redesigned front grille exterior, tailored for electric vehicles and showcasing the technology of the future for pickup trucks. The Hilux Revo BEV Concept was first introduced during Toyota Motor Thailand’s 60th Anniversary in December 2022. Additionally, there are plans to introduce this as another type of eco-friendly vehicle in the „Decarbonized Sustainable City” project, which aims to promote alternative energy vehicle technology and clean energy systems for transportation, the economy, and sustainable environmental development in Pattaya City.

HEV Concept “Prius HEV Concept”

The Toyota Prius was the first hybrid electric vehicle to be commercially produced, featuring both an engine and electric motors. The most recent version of the Prius, the fifth generation, has been released with a new and sporty design that smartly incorporates aerodynamics to enhance fuel efficiency and driving performance. The interior of the car follows the „Island Architecture” concept, featuring a 7-inch digital instrument cluster that helps drivers focus on the road. Furthermore, the vehicle’s longer wheelbase provides ample space inside the body, and it comes with 19-inch alloy wheels.

LPG-HEV Concept “LPG HEV Taxi Concept”

The LPG HEV Taxi Concept is a vehicle that has been designed specifically for use as a taxi. The concept car showcased at this event features a unique yellow-green color scheme, giving it a distinct identity for Thailand. The vehicle has a high roof and is equipped with a large electric sliding door. The cabin is spacious and designed with a low flat floor to facilitate the use of ramps for wheelchairs. This feature makes it convenient for all passengers, especially the elderly and children, to enter and exit the cabin easily. The LPG HEV Taxi Concept has been created with a focus on comfort and minimizing driver fatigue. It also emphasizes environmentally-friendly power, utilizing a hybrid engine that combines electric power with LPG. More notably, the vehicle is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, providing peace of mind to everyone on board throughout the journey.

HICEV Concept “Corolla Cross Hydrogen Concept”

The Corolla Cross Hydrogen Concept is powered by a hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine, packing a powerful 1.6-liter turbo three-cylinder engine. With a high-pressure hydrogen injection system, refueling is just as fast as a traditional gas-powered vehicle.
